Instax and Cabbage Rolls

Some instant film shots I took in San Diego with the Fujifilm. These are propped up on my desk so I can stare at them while I study. It is maybe not the best strategy.

And some scenes from cooking dinner tonight. I made vegetarian cabbage rolls which weren't half bad. They're from a new cookbook I got in San Diego made for college students. The recipes are all under $5, very basic and cheap but there are some good ideas. I made a chili recipe from the book last night which was really good.

  1. If you can make cabbage look good, you are a good photographer. I cut the core out and dump the whole raw cabbage in hot water that reached boiling temp. Leaves get limpy and tears less. When water gets between limpy leaves, it's easier to peel.

  2. That is a great idea. I started peeling raw but they started tearing so I cut the core and then kept peeling. I think your way would have made it way easier though. Also the cabbage leaves were maybe too boiled? But when we ate them they still had a pretty fibrous texture so I don't know if I over or under cooked them.
