Did you ever think the day would come when I would voluntarily cook curry? Me neither! It seems I've actually developed a taste for it afterall! And my first oyako-don. It was more salty than I remembered... too much shoyu and not enough mirin? But good with the veg patties on top!
Looks good, Koko. I always thought it weird that you didn't like curry. Mama and I have been enjoying the good Japanese food we've been able to find here in Manhattan. At home we're not so blessed with good Japanese restaurants. I've been ordering a lot of--drum roll please--katsu curry, and mama lots of Chan-pon (a seafood noodle dish she ate a lot when you were little in Kumamoto).
ReplyDelete...and katsudon, gyoza, chicken karaage, kata-yakisoba, ramen...It will be hard to go back to mac & cheese next week...
